Paris Montage - An iPhoneography How To

I recently downloaded a new iPhone photography app called DistressedFx. I decided to test it out by making a Paris Montage. I began by photographing a vintage postcard I have with my iPhone camera. I was able to crop it square within the app.

I then added the Cole filter to add a soft vignette, the Savannah filter to make the image more golden and give it some texture and the FlowerChild filter to give it a bluer/green cast with a dreamy/cloudy effect.

I almost never use just one app. I like to "stack" my apps to make my own customized image. One of my favorite ways to add borders is with the PhotoBorders app. I chose one of the grunge borders, painted it black and saved the image to my iPhone gallery.

I also have some wonderful old postcards of the Eiffel Tower. I brought the distressed image into the ImageBlender app, then photographed one of the Eiffel Tower postcards and layered it on top, using the screen blending mode.

Next I added the word Paris with the TypeDrawing app. I love adding text with this app because you can define your own curve and placement.

Finally I brought the image into SquareReadyPro and cropped it so there was some white around the outside edge of the black grunge border.
