Green Eileen

I tweeted my last post about Eileen Fisher and got an interesting tweet back from @eileenfisher. Did you know that Eileen Fisher has recycled clothing stores? Only problem is all three stores are in NYC.

The Green Eileen Stores raise money for projects supporting girls and women. According to a recent Huffington Post article "Customers and employees have donated more than 50,000 used Eileen Fisher garments for resale since 2009, raising more than $600,000 for nonprofits..."

How cool is that? Not only are you getting fabulous style at lower prices but the $ goes to great causes. Now please please please open a Green Eileen near San Francisco!

***Be sure to check out the Eileen Fisher video on How to Tie a Scarf. It's Fabulous.

I Love Eileen Fisher

I love Eileen Fisher's clothes. I am using their web site as inspiration...to keep me counting my Weight Watcher's points. I love how her pieces drape, how simple they are, and her color palette. Now all I have to figure out is how to pay for them.

Free Animated E-cards Now Easier to Send

The animated e-cards at Hula Hoop Press are now easier to send. And they are FREE! I just reworked the site so you only have to click and drag the image to the body of your email.

Paint Brush for Your iPad

My friend Tricia posted about this on facebook. It is a paintbrush that you can use on your iPad. How cool is that. They raised lots of $ on Kickstarter and the "Sensu" brush will be available in May

Time With Friends

Spent a few days with my friends Bob, Jo and Cindy. There was hanging out by the infinity pool, great wine, sleeping under twinkle lights, a visit to a fabulous nursery and scones for breakfast. Such a wonderful, mellow time to regroup.

First Picnic of 2012

Picnics make me happy. I grew up on picnics. My grandparents lived across the street from the town's park, which had a petting zoo and a carousel. My grandmother on the spur of the moment would fry some chicken, make a coleslaw and we would all head over to the park for dinner.

I have been picnic deprived for a number of years now. So I decided to make 2012 the summer of picnics. My two friends, Tricia and Susan, and I decided to meet for a picnic lunch. Each of us brought something to drink and share. We all are trying to lose weight so we all brought healthy stuff. That thing in the picture in the lower left corner is 1/2  cucumber sandwich. It was a perfect picnic...good friends, good conversation...good food...even a tiny bit of chocolate. All that was missing was the carousel.

Motivating Myself First Thing in the Morning

I tend to wake up in the morning a little down and unmotivated. I don't know why. I'm not dreading anything in my day. As a matter of fact I like how I spend most of the day. I have tried to figure out the "why". (You can see numerous past posts about this in the Dancing in My Kitchen section). I know all the wonderful things that happen in my life when I get up in the morning and dance. It changes just about everything for the better.

I give up on figuring out the "why" and trying to reason myself out of bed. I found out a better idea is to leave my shuffle next to the bed with my earphones ready to put on. Then I JUST PUSH PLAY.

What I have found out is it is impossible to lie in bed while Louie Louie by the Kingsmen is playing. Don't believe me? Just try it...

My works every time Go To Song - Louie Louie Louie Louie - The Best of the Kingsmen

Update 4/20 - Woke up this morning...mood my usual 4.5. I put my earbuds in, pushed play and was dancing as I got out of bed at a mood of 5. Danced 30 minutes until my mood was a 7. That's a 25% increase in my mood! What else can do that in 30 minutes? Thank you the Kingsmen and also to Steve Jobs and all the Apple folks who made my iPod shuffle! I'm a happy woman.

If you haven't seen this, you are going to love it! Now if I could invent something like this for when I am dancing!

I Am Dancing In My Kitchen Again....

Anyone want to join me? I am doing 30 minutes a day to improve my mood by 15-20% and get in shape/lose weight.

I have danced off and on since I first started this blog. I've even had Dancing Around Your Kitchen challenges. I am thinking about doing one again. I always dance more consistently when others are dancing around their kitchens too.

Even my very first blog post Do These Jeans Make My Ass Look Big? was about dancing. My life is better when I am dancing around the kitchen and rest of house. (Be sure to check out my mood chart by scrolling down in the left column.)

I have put my favorite dancing posts under the label Dancing In My Kitchen or you can get there by tapping on the category under the header.

Blue Patio

I recently downloaded a little iphone photography app that I really like. It's called Jazz. There are quite a few filters and you can customize each filter. I edited the image above in Jazz and then brought it into ScratchCam to add the squares.

Instagram Purchased by Facebook

Instagram is one of my all time favorite apps. There are over 27 million people with Instagram accounts. I am often touched my just how much creativity there is in the world. There's lots of conversation going on over at Instagram about whether the community will now be ruined by Facebook. Will there be ads? Will copyrights be effected?

My stand right now is wait and see, but just in case I have started posting on another photo app called Streamzoo. It is a lot smaller but has some features I really like. So.......at least for now I am going to post in both places. You can find me as PhotoCynthia.

Finally all I can say is congratulations to the people at Instagram....$1 Billion!!!!!
