Dancing Around The Kitchen While Making Carrot Cake - Dancing To Paris #56

Decided to put some music on and dance while baking my grandmother's carrot cake. I put the batter into individual bundt muffin tins.
Time of day - afternoon
danced for - 40 minutes (but a lot of stop and go while baking)
mood before - 6

My Grandmother's Carrot Cake Recipe

1 cup of wesson oil (I used canola)
2 cups of sugar
3 eggs
2 cups of grated carrots
1 cup of drained, crushed pineapple
1 cup of nuts
2 1/2 cups of flour
1 t of soda
1 t of baking powder
1/2 t of salt
1 t of cinnamon
1T of vanilla

Cream oil sugar and eggs well. Add drained pineapple and carrots.

Mix well by hand...sifted flour, soda, salt, baking powder. Add to create mixture. Stir in nuts and vanilla. Bake at 350 degrees for 45 minutes (spray Pam on bundt pan). I baked small bundt muffins at 350 degrees for 30 minutes.

Icing
1/2 box powdered sugar
1/2 cube oleo (I used butter)
2 oz cream cheese
1T vanilla

Thin if necessary with a small amount of milk.

More iPad Stuff

One of the things I have not really gotten the hang of with the iPad is when I want to type something longer than a tweet on the touch keyboard. I already had a wireless keyboard so with a little bit of help from the Apple Genius guy, I "paired" my wireless keyboard to my iPad. I also got a little stand that holds the iPad upright, which is a lot easier when typing. I can cut and paste a bit easier with the external keyboard as well as there is no command, control or option key on the touch keypad. My apple wireless keyboard is small enough that I can put it in my purse with the iPad and it still weighs a lot less than my laptop to carry with me.

Cool...I just figured out how to type directly on my iPad into blogger without using a mobile editor. Thanks to Pro Blogger who has once again come thru for Me. You have to type in the edit HTML tab, not the compose tab.

Now to figure how to add pictures from iPad.

Gratitude App Journal

Found this cool gratitude journal app from Happy Tapper. Between blogging and twittering and facebooking, I have gotten out of the habit of keeping a regular journal. This little app is very easy to use, keeps an archive of all your entries and you can add a picture and rate the day.

May Day in Mill Valley

My friends Susan, Tricia and I spent the most fun day in Mill Valley. It was such a beutiful day!

There was gelato at Cici. Yummmmmm.

There were flowers....lots and lots of flowers...

...and cute dogs...

and great pasta at Piazza D'Angelo.
